F&B Operations — 2025

Role
Front-End Developer
Stack
A dual-interface F&B system connecting a customer-facing digital menu to a real-time kitchen display, closing the communication gap between front-of-house and the kitchen.

01 / The Narrative
Miscommunication between servers and kitchen staff is one of the most common failure points in F&B operations. Kedai Artha exists to close that gap. I led the interface work in Flutter Web, building two distinct experiences: one tuned for customer convenience on mobile, the other for kitchen visibility on tablet or desktop. Both stay in sync in real time through Firebase, so every order lands in the kitchen exactly as it was placed.
The Challenge
The kitchen screen had to pack in a lot of information while staying readable from across the room, and it had to render new orders in real time without dragging down browser performance as orders piled up.
The Solution
State management in Flutter was scoped tightly so only the incoming order card rebuilds, not the whole screen. Paired with a high-contrast status color system, kitchen staff can tell new orders from completed ones at a glance, with no lag even during a rush.
02 / Impact & Highlights
Result
Deployed and running at a local F&B outlet, the real-time sync removed the need for verbal order relay between staff entirely, which cut down order errors and sped up kitchen response time.
Technical Highlights

- 02Real-time order sync via Firebase with granular, component-level re-rendering
- 03High-contrast color system built for at-a-glance kitchen readability
- 04Single Flutter Web codebase running across multiple screen targets
